According to official guidelines, it is a general rule to arrive at the airport no later than two hours before your domestic flight is scheduled to depart. For international flights, it is recommended to arrive no later than three hours before scheduled departure.

The New York State Legislature and the Nassau County Board of Supervisors have passed legislation imposing an occupancy tax of 3% on all hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, inns, cabins, cottages, campgrounds, tourist homes and convention centers within Nassau County. The 3% Long Island Hotel Tax and the 8.625% NYS tax gives the guest a total of 11.625% tax.

Per the TSA's rules and guidelines, any and all tools should be securely wrapped, if sharp, and stowed away in your checked baggage. Almost all liquids, including gels and aerosols, food, drinks, and personal care items, must be stored in a 3.4-ounce or smaller container and placed in a quart-size clear zippered plastic bag when flying.

Long Island experiences four distinct seasons, although the summer and winter are a bit milder than the rest of the state due to its coastal location. Long Islanders enjoy warm summers ranging from the mid 70s to the mid 90s. Spring and fall are comfortable, usually ranging from about 40 to 60 degrees. The winters bring in temperatures of 40 degrees and below.

John F. Kennedy International Airport is approximately 12 miles away from The Garden City Hotel. LaGuardia Airport is approximately 16 miles away.

Our standard rooms do not include breakfast; however you can enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast at King Bar by David Burke every day from 7:00 am to 10:30 am. We offer a wide selection of food from fresh fruits and grains to custom omelets made with farm fresh eggs.

Check in time starts at 4:00 pm and check out time is 11:00 am.

The Garden City Hotel is a dog-friendly hotel and offers pet amenities. The fee is $75 per night, per dog (fees and restrictions do not apply to service animals). You and your dog will receive:

Garden City is home to an array of interesting, family-friendly museums, including the Cradle of Aviation Museum, the Long Island Children’s Museum, and the Nassau County Firefighters Museum. Kids could spend all day exploring the Lego Store or checking out Nassau County’s variety of feathered friends at the Garden City Bird Sanctuary.
