Afternoon Tea at the Red Salt Room

We invite you to join us for Chef David Burke’s whimsical take on Afternoon Tea. On Saturdays from 12 pm to 4 pm, guests can stop by the Red Salt Room to take part in this cherished Garden City Hotel tradition.
Sip on a refined selection of loose teas or herbal infusion teas, from a Darjeeling black tea from the finest tea gardens in the Himalayas to a simple, yet sophisticated English breakfast tea. There are also options for those who prefer to stay caffeine-free, like the Mother’s Bouquet, infused with citrus flavors and a delightful blend of chamomile flowers, rosebuds, cornflowers, and orange peel.
For the complete Afternoon Tea experience, guests can choose from two savory menus. Dine on indulgent bites like steak au poivre and miniature lobster rolls with the Royal Tea. Or, stick to the classics with the Traditional Tea, which comes with Camembert & Piquillo Pepper Tartine, egg salad with bacon, and more.
Save room for a freshly baked scone topped with Devonshire cream and house-made preserves. You can also satisfy your sweet tooth with a selection of specialty desserts and pastries, like our rose vanilla cakes or lemon meringue tarts. Top off the afternoon with a glass of wine or champagne. We also recommend the Spiked Pea Flower Lemonade with limoncello.
On October 30, we’re celebrating Halloween with an extra special Spooky Tea event. Come dressed in your Halloween costume for eerily good tea paired with fang-tastic snacks.
